Mark
Rayner

Mark lives near
the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and has been an avid photographer since
his early teens. He cut his teeth in photography while assisting his
uncle Geoff Rayner, a well respected professional photographer in the Stanthorpe-Granite Belt area.
Mark often
accompanied Geoff to weddings and other events
which
enabled him to acquire first-hand, knowledge of photographic techniques
used by a professional photographer, which would stand him in good stead
in the years ahead.
Mark's first published photo
was of the RAAF Dog Squad at work, taken during the Stanthorpe Apple and Grape
Festival, using a medium-format Hasselblad. The photo was published in
the local paper and at only fourteen years of age, Mark was very proud
indeed.
Times have changed
and Mark now uses the latest state-of-the-art digital equipment from
Nikon. Mark's passion for photography is second to none and he has
developed a love of all things tiny, as well as the wide expanses of
Australia.
Macro and landscapes may seem at opposite ends of the
photographic spectrum but Mark's results are testament to his skill
in these areas. Mark’s work is as diverse as it is creative. It
includes
surreal landscapes, insects, flora and fauna, as well as wedding and portrait
photography.
Mark recently
achieved Overlander Magazine Photography Forum "Photographer
of the Year" for 2006, the second year in a row he has achieved this
hotly contested title.
Mark is also
skilled in digital workflow and post-processing of
photos as well as being accomplished in the use of Photoshop.
Mark gets a real
kick out of helping people with their photographic pursuits. He will be
happy to share his experience with you and bring out the best in your
photography, whether you own a simple “Point and Shoot” digital camera
or a sophisticated digital SLR.
