Next Workshop - Spring 2009 - Date TBA

Where:  Noela’s Gardens – Donnybrook (north of Caboolture)

Itinerary

·         8:00 AM. Flower photography techniques. Michael and Mark will show you various techniques aimed at improving your photography of flowers, shrubs and trees.  This session is based at Noela’s Gardens at Donnybrook (north of Caboolture), with 10 acres of amazing gardens to explore.

·         Simplifying the digital world.  This session is conducted indoors and here you will be shown many aspects of digital post-processing.  Topics covered will include low vs high resolution, pixels, resizing, colour-space, jpeg/TIFF/RAW files and printing options, to name but a few.

·         Local, native flora and landscapes.  You will leave Noela’s Gardens and head to some photogenic forest and heath land in the surrounding area, where you will be shown how to take great plant and landscape photos.  Different photographic techniques will be shown, including using various filters, composition, effective use of light and much more.

·         Review of day’s photos.  Michael and Mark will download and critique some of your photos, offering hints and suggestions that will turn good photos into great photos.

The “Forest Garden Wildflower Experience” photography workshop gives you opportunities to photograph both cultivated and wild flowers, shrubs, trees and landscapes.  With a maximum of 10 participants and both Michael and Mark instructing, there will be opportunities for one-on-one tuition, where your own, personal photographic requirements will be catered for.

During the “simplifying the digital world” session, confusing digital jargon will explained in simple language that all participants, including beginners, will understand.

In the last session of the day, you will have your photos constructively critiqued.  Critique sessions are a great way of seeing how you are progressing with your photography.  Positive, constructive feedback is given on ways to improve areas that may need some attention.  Ultimately, the end result is learning how to take better photos.
