Mark's Tip of the Day - Resize for E-Mail
21/09/09
One of the simplest methods of emailing photos to friends and family is courtesy of Google's Picasa.
Picasa, a free program from Google, has a very simple resize and send function. Just open the options menu (preferences on a Mac), click on the E-Mail tab and then set your preferred options.
800 pixels is a good size for email (this will resize the longest edge of the image to 800 pixels) as it provides a good viewing size but keeps the file size down to a reasonable level.
For those shooting in RAW, Picasa will even do an "on-the-fly" conversion to JPEG as your send your email. Great if you need to share your photos quickly and don't have time for a lot of post processing.
